There supposedly is no accurate record of the fourth day of the last week of the Savior’s life or Easter – day 4.
Because no scriptural reference is found I can only imagine what Easter – day 4 was like.
He knew He was in the last days of His life and that soon His loved ones would have their faith tried as He gave himself to the leaders of the day. I imagine He was continuing to do good, because He is the Good Shepherd. I also imagine He was among His friends. Why not, if you knew soon they would be grieving for you?
The beauty of Christ is that He is a God. He was and is the only one that could have accomplished the tasks that He did. After purifying the temple, riding into Jerusalem, and outsmarting the religious and political leaders of the day, I imagine this day He might have had a little time to reflect, grieve, and contemplate the tasks ahead. I also think weighing on His mind was the fact that His apostles still did not understand what was about to take place and that He would in fact be resurrected.
So the forth day is a blur to us. One scripture however is one I like to remember on this day. It reads:
“…having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.” (John 13:1)
