My favorite views sometimes are simple, ordinary and commonly unseen. Others are majestic. Today I would like to focus on a view I love: The Mesa Temple.
Sometimes sitting at the temple is the most peaceful feeling in the world. Even though there are many LDS temples around the world, I particularly love the Mesa Temple. If you choose to take a walk around the grounds you will always find beautiful flowers in bloom. Also there are two reflection pools that are great for taking pictures by. One pool is by the front, which you see in the picture above. Another pool is on the side closer to the visitor’s center where you can easily sit on a bench to read for a while.
While visiting the Mesa Temple, if you pay close attention you will notice carved features along the top. There’s so much detail to this structure that you can’t help but be in awe as you stare at the beautiful designs on the side of the building. There’s so much green in one place it stands out in the desert.
The Visitors Center
Right across the temple is the visitors center which has the Christus Statue and also beautiful art to look at. You can see many Book of Mormons as you walk in as well. There are many languages that the book is translated into that it may take you by surprise. There are also videos to watch and friendly missionaries to greet you if you have any questions. Its truly a positive atmosphere where you can feel at peace.
I love the temple and how peaceful and wonderful it is there. Around Christmas time the temple is all lit up with many lights and nativities. You will often see performances at the Mesa Temple throughout the year including the Easter Pageant that is coming up in April. If you ever want to enjoy the view go to the front and sit right on a bench and look up. You will love the reflection pool and the peace you feel there.
