My Thoughts About Mom’s Journey

I was thrilled to read this book as I am a mom myself.  Reading it was easy, the chapters are small, the wording is easy to read, and overall this book makes you feel like you are getting advice from your own mother.

I don’t agree with everything she says in this book.  I want to throw this out there right away.  She believes in the cry it out method, and other methods that I don’t agree with.  She does give some basic advice that is pretty good though.

I love how short the book is so that you can get through it quickly.  This is a book you can read with a few spare minutes here or there.  When you are a mom you don’t always have time to sit down and read a book straight through.

I think a good part about this book is that she shares what she does.  She suggests prepping for dinner one night a week.  She cooks all her dinners in one day and that way she can have it done.  I think that is a great idea.  Spend one night or day cooking and save the others for having fun with your family!  However you want to do it is fine, I just really liked this idea.

Another thing I liked was how she talked about not shouting or yelling at your kids.  She talks about talking to them like you would talk to anyone else.  If we shout or yell they only listen to you when you shout or yell and then the cycle continues.  If we talk to them like we would talk to anyone else they learn to listen without us having to yell at them.  It is a really good logical system

Over all I liked the book.  It is an easy read and has practical advice that any mom can learn from!  I am so happy I read it!
