Tick tock, tick tock goes the red clock.  Today’s challenge was to take a picture of a clock and this is my favorite one in my house.

A Clock

This clock is actually rather loud in my house.  I originally bought it to be an alarm clock for the side of my bed but I found the ticking noise too loud at night.  I had to move it to my bathroom and even then I still hear it sometimes right when I am almost ready for sleep.  Although it is loud consequently it seems to be a perfect alarm.   As a result it definitely wakes me up in the morning and because it is in my bathroom I have to get up to turn it off.  Its a win win in the end and has now become my favorite clock.

Memories

Time has been on my mind lately.  It seems to be slipping by without keeping track of it very well.  While there is always something to do in my house, I find there’s never enough time with the people I love.  Isn’t that how love works though?  You always want more time with them and more time until you simply can’t get enough?  Yet time moves on without taking a break.  It just keeps ticking onward with no stops or stutters in between.

The ticking sound use to be soothing to me as a child.  Perhaps the consistency of it brought me peace.  I remember a grandfather clock at my grandfather’s house, as ironic as that is.  It was tall and sang every hour so you definitely knew how much time passed.  Time seemed to move so quickly with the constant dinging every hour.  Hours turned to minutes it seemed.  To this day I miss that grandfather clock.  But maybe that’s another reason why this little loud one is also my favorite in the house.
