On Easter Day 5 we believe Christ suffered in Gethsemane. This is a vital part of history because this is how we have the Atonement. He suffered so much he bled at every pour. You can read what happened on day 5 here.
To symbolize this day I decided to get a rock and tie a string around it.
The string is red to represent the blood spilt, and the rock is a symbol of Gethsemane. In most picture depicting the Savior’s Atonement, you see him leaning on a rock.
So Today is a day in which I am very grateful for my Savior. Without this day, our sins could not be forgiven, our sorrows not felt. Although he deserved no suffering or pain, He subjected Himself to the will of the Father and did what He would have Him do.
And thus we have the Atonement.
